Your First Visit

Please allow 1 1/2 hours for your first visit. You will first meet with one of our Treatment Coordinators who give you a tour of the office, take a screening x-ray and photographs, and review your medical history. Dr. G will conduct a very thorough examination to determine if this is the right time for treatment to begin, or whether treatment should wait until further growth and dental development has occurred. In cases where treatment is indicated, we are often times able to move to the next step of taking impressions and fabrication appliances to save you another visit to the office. We ask that whenever possible either parents or decision makers attend the examination so that treatment decisions can be made.

At your initial visit, a screening Panorex will be taken. This gives Dr. G a full view of your teeth and jaws. We will send a copy of this x-ray to your family dentist.

We will also take a set of photographs of your teeth. This allows Dr. G to better illustrate the treatment he recommends. You will even be able to take a set of photographs home with you.

Dr. G will perform a thorough examination of your teeth and bite. He will dictate his examination to a Treatment Coordinator who will document the findings in your chart. After the examination, Dr. G will give you a thorough explanation of the treatment he is recommending. One of our Treatment Coordinators will be there to answer any questions you have. When you leave you will know what kind of treatment is recommended, how long it will take, and how much it will cost.
